What happens in the first session?

The first session is a full 50-minute working session at the regular fee, not a free sales call. We cover your history, what you have already tried, and what you are hoping to accomplish. You leave with a clear clinical picture of the work ahead, and a direct answer on whether this practice is the right fit. If after the first session either of us decides this is not the right match, the remainder of the four-session minimum is refundable.

How is this different from the therapy I have already done?

Most standard trauma protocols such as EMDR, CBT, and stabilization-focused approaches are designed to reduce symptoms and help you function. The Internal Autonomy Framework picks up where those protocols stop: it addresses the underlying architecture of how trauma has reorganized your memory, emotional system, relational patterns, and sense of future. The goal is not ongoing management. It is resolution.

Do you take insurance?

No. Morning Light Counseling is a cash-pay practice. Superbills are provided on request for potential out-of-network reimbursement; many PPO plans reimburse 50 to 80 percent of session fees.

Question 4

What are your fees?

The fee is $250 per 50-minute session. New clients begin with a minimum four-session engagement ($1,000), booked and paid at the start. If after the first session either of us determines it is not the right fit, the remaining three sessions are refundable.

Question 5

Do you offer telehealth only, or in-person?

Accepted Answer

Telehealth only. All sessions are conducted via secure video, which removes geographic barriers and allows clients anywhere in Missouri to access this work.
